You may be asking yourself, "Do I really need therapy"? Or, "Is there something wrong with me if I do"? Contrary to certain myths, therapy is not for people who
are "deranged", "messed up", "weird" or are unable to contribute to
society. In fact, quite the opposite is true.
Therapy serves as a means of help and support for people as they face issues that seem overwhelming. Failed or unfulfilling relationships, unsuccessful or
disappointing career situations, general dissatisfaction, apathy,
crisis, trauma, loss and death are among the many reasons to explore
therapy. Feeling lonely, betrayed, frustrated, confused, stuck, or any combination of these emotions impairs our ability to live the "Better Life" we desire.
Identifying the reasons for your feelings or behavior may
be hard to figure out alone. Beginning with a thorough assessment of
your present problems, family background, social functioning, and
spiritual resources, we can help you pinpoint the reasons you are struggling, set goals for
attacking those problem and help you achieve your goals. It is our desire to help you make sense of those difficult circumstances and to create meaning in the midst of the difficulties you may be facing.
Simply put, we want to help you develop a "Better Life".
